Value
vs. Price:
You will learn that diamonds do not have
a set
retail price
from one store to another. As a result, diamonds can
be
inflated with ridiculously high retail prices for the sole
purpose
of discounting them. This makes shopping for a
diamond even
more difficult, if you’re just price shopping

you is how to "Value Shop". Value Shopping is not
always receiving
the lowest price, although
sometimes it
might be, but rather is getting the best qualitydiamon
possible
for the money you intend to spend.
For example, if you
see a specific diamond selling at retail
for $9,000.00 and after the discounts
you pay $5,000.00
you might think that’s a good deal.
But what if the diamond
was only worth $3,500.00, then you should have only spent

Diamond
Grading Methods:
There are only two universally recognized diamond grading systems. The first was developed by the Gemological Institute of America or GIA, and is the most widely used grading system in the world. I.e. Clarity Grades: Flawless thru I3.The second was developed by the American Gem Society or AGS, this grading system is used mostly by a group of AGS affiliated retail stores. I.e. Clarity Grades: 1 thru 10.
For CoolSchool™ we
will use the GIA system, but a conversion chart will be available
if you should need to compare two diamonds graded by these two grading systems. |
