Culet Size
A culet is the point at the bottom of a diamond's pavilion if the
culet is not eye-visible and is in the range of "none" to"small" the
value of the diamond is not diminished. However, a larger culet
will appear as a hole in the center of the diamond.
Finish
Finish is defined by GIA as "features that usually have
little effect on appearance (e.g. pinpoint inclusions, subtle
color distinctions, etc.)." The finish of a diamond consists
of two components:
1. Symmetry - relates to the
exactness of the shape and arrasngement of the facets.
2. Polish - relates to the appearance
of the individual facets and how well each was polished.
The impact that "polish" and "symmetry" have
on a diamond's value is not substantial, but
each item does signify the level of perfection in the finishing
of each diamond. |
